Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC Recover $1-million for Burn Victim
Joliet, Illinois - November 30, 2006- Civil litigation firm Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC announce today an agreement to settle an injury case in the amount of $1-million.

In September, 2001, John Smith was a tenant of Defendant Leroy Steffes of Homer Township, Illinois. Mr. Steffes started a fire in a fire pit using gasoline as an accelerant. Steffes, who had drained the gasoline from a vehicle on his property, chose to store it in an unapproved, non-sealed, non-safety container, and then placed it near the fire pit.

Mr. Smith was severely injured when he tripped over the bucket of gasoline, and it ignited as a result of its close proximity to the fire pit. Burns to Smith's body encompassed about 15-percent of his body.

Mr. Smith sought compensation for his injuries which included past, present and future pain and suffering, lost wages, lost earning capacity, loss of normal life, and disfigurement.

The settlement has been agreed to by both parties.
