Donald P. Jonker, Esq. Joins Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC
Joliet, Illinois – Civil litigation firm, Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC has hired Donald P. Jonker, Esquire, as an Associate Attorney. Mr. Jonker’s employment adds to the firm’s well-rounded civil, criminal, and appellate practice. In addition to civil litigation, Mr. Jonker will focus his practice in the area of attorney disciplinary defense.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jonker was Litigation Counsel for the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, where he investigated and litigated cases involving all types of attorney misconduct. Mr. Jonker also worked as a Supervisory Regional Counsel for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services where he litigated numerous high profile cases, and was in private practice from 1992 to 1995.

Jonker began his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, Illinois in 1984. He has tried over forty (40) jury trials in both state and federal court, argued complex legal and constitutional issues before the Illinois Supreme Court, and drafted legislation, administrative rules and procedures for several state agencies.

Donald Jonker is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a 1975 graduate of Brother Rice High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1980, and obtained a Juris Doctorate in 1984 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the law review. Don Jonker and his wife reside in Orland Park, Illinois, and have three children. Don is a sports enthusiast and enjoys family-oriented activities. He is also an amateur astronomer.
