Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC Hire Two Associate Attorneys
Joliet, Illinois – Civil litigation firm Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC has hired Luis Magaña, Esquire and Steven E. Skinner, Esquire as Associate Attorneys. Mr. Magaña will litigate workers’ compensation and other employment and civil claims for the firm. Mr. Skinner will represent clients in matters of civil and criminal litigation.

Steven E. Skinner began his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Chicago, Illinois, serving as a prosecuting attorney in the Criminal Trial Division. During his first year as a prosecutor, Skinner obtained over $1.4-million in civil judgments for child support.

Mr. Skinner earned a Juris Doctor in 2001 from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. As a student, Mr. Skinner was named the “Young Attorney of the Year” by law school alumni for his leadership in the Mock Trial Team that participated in the national championships in both 2004 and 2005.

Mr. Skinner is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a 1990 graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Skinner served as an Appropriations Analyst for the Illinois State Senate.

Luis Magaña earned a Juris Doctor in 2004 from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois. While studying law, Mr. Magana was a finalist in the Frederick Green Moot Court and a member of the Association of Latino(a) Law Students.

Mr. Magaña is a native of Plainfield, Illinois, and a 1997 graduate of Plainfield High School. He graduated Cum Laude from Illinois State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Art in Political Science and History.
