Biography

Carl Buck joined RCK Law Firm in 1999 after working as a felony prosecutor for the Will County State’s Attorney. He became a firm partner in 2003 and works from the Joliet office.

Mr. Buck focuses his practice on commercial and contract litigation and municipal/school law. His clients include municipalities, public community college and local school districts, corporations, contractors, developers, and individuals.

A native of Plainfield, Carl graduated from Joliet Catholic High School before attending the Citadel Military College in Charleston, South Carolina. He is a U.S. Army veteran having served as a platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division. Mr. Buck earned his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Mr. Buck is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Will County Bar Association, and a member of the Federal Trial Bar for both the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. He is an adjunct professor at the John Marshall Law School Center for Trial Advocacy and practices throughout Northern Illinois, predominantly in Will, Grundy, DuPage, Cook, and Kendall Counties.

Mr. Buck is a past president of the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce where he was named the Chamber’s “Advocate of the Year” in 2005. In 2013, he received the Plainfield School District 202 C.A.P.E. Award for Volunteer of the Year after serving as PTO President at Indian Trail Middle School. Mr. Buck’s pro bono clients include the Humane Society of Will County and Pink Heals, Joliet Chapter.
